Supermarine S.6B

Hi to All:
This is my model of the Supermarine S.6B forerunner of the Supermarine Spitfire.  The model details are:  wingspan 73"; weight 15 lbs; powered by O.S. 120 4-stroke engine.  The model was scratch built from Jim Pepino plans and is made of balsa covered with silk and Brodak dope.  The model flies off the water beautifully and lands with a typical skimming action.  Next week its home will be the Florida Aviation Historical Museum at Sun 'n' Fun in Lakeland, FL.

I am thinking of building the Pepino 1/5 scale S6b. I notice that you had to add quite a bit of weight to the front to the floats. I was wondering if you think a bigger (heavier) engine might be the way to go, or would the model then be overpowered?

  4. Beautiful job!!!
I couldn't resist ordering the kit from LDS. Is there anyway to reach the builder of the plane with questions etc?
